I feel that March has lasted just 2 whole days. I remember thinking in Feb that March was just around the corner and here we are, now at the end!

This month brought me so much fulfilment and joy. I hosted the 3 day yoga and meditation retreat here in Dubai in a beautiful beach side resort, just outside the hustle and bustle of our lively city. Ah what an inspiring group of 14 women I had a pleasure of spending the time with! I worked around the clock to get everything planned and organized and then to facilitate the retreat.
All while still maintaining everything else ... you know the usual mom stuff and a full teaching schedule. I slept very little.
But I was on an ultimate high. Filled with joy, excitement, love, fulfilment.
I would wake up at 4 am in the morning with enthusiasm to go add more magic to my day, knowing that same magic will bring joy to others. Living my days like this, knowing that I am here doing what I am truly meant to do, makes every day purposeful and magical.
As I reflect on how lucky I am do this work and to have found my calling I remembered the words I heard a while back from author Elizabeth Gilbert:
“Just follow the bread crumbs, choose curiosity over fear and it may just lead you to your passions.”
Let me explain.
You see, we are all led to believe that finding your passion (and hence your purpose) is easy, obvious and somehow we all eventually nail it. But this is not the case for everyone.
For some, it comes early in life. For some, later on. But for many, it may never come. And the “never” folks often are left feeling left behind because that “passion” have never found them. I know a few (including my darling husband) who are looking around through the drawers of their life, interests, etc to find something worth pursuing as a “passion”.
But there can be a more natural way to do all this soul searching. Rather than focusing so hard on identifying what your passions in life are, simply start by following the bread crumbs..aka your curiosity.
When I left the corporate world in 2012 and went to Ubud, Bali to practice yoga and learn more about it, I was following my curiosity. I said no to a nice paycheck and all the perks that came with my corporate job. The good ole’ predictable fear was screaming out loud “are you crazy, yoga?” all the while curiosity was whispering “Just go, explore"
And here I am now, nearly 10 years later...the curiosity to go and explore led me to straight to the front door of my passion, to my life’s work: to share my love for yoga with you all.
Could this approach feel slightly more magical and softer for your soul? For some this may resonate, and for others not. That is the point - we each have our unique ways of discovering this life and it is a continuous unfolding evolution.
UPCOMING RETREATS & WORKSHOPS:
Due to my slightly crazy teaching and mom schedule I have reduced my Zoom classes to once a week:
Sundays at 12 noon local Dubai time.
This is a convenient time for those in Europe and South East Asia to join live. Schedule and pricing on my website as always.
